Assigning to projects
Linking a person to projects and categories: the dialog, the rules and what an assignment affects.
🔗 Assigning to projects
An assignment decides which projects a person works on. Someone assigned to no project sees no chats at all. Categories narrow it further: the person then only receives inquiries on their own topics.
Opening the dialog
In the staff list, press the â‹® button on the row and choose Assign to project.
Selecting projects
- Tick or untick the checkbox next to each project.
- With many projects, use the Search project box at the top.
- Select all ticks every project in the list at once. When only some are ticked, (partially selected) is shown next to it.
- Projects the person already works on are marked Currently assigned.
Categories
Once a project that has categories is ticked, a chevron button appears on its right edge. Press it to unfold the project's categories and tick them individually.
- A ticked category means the person receives inquiries on that topic.
- With no category ticked, the person works in the project's general flow.
- Categories are created on the project's Settings page.
Saving
Save applies only what changed: newly ticked projects are assigned, unticked ones are removed, and categories are updated the same way. When it finishes, the dialog closes and the Assigned projects column in the list refreshes.
Cancel changes nothing.
What an assignment affects
- Chats — the person can only open and join conversations of the assigned projects.
- Inquiries — when an inquiry is handed to someone, the list offers exactly the people assigned to that project.
- Project list — an operator only sees the projects they are assigned to.
Next steps
- Staff profile — assignments are shown there too.
- Chats — how the operator's work is organised.
