🔑 Roles and permissions

Every staff member has exactly one role, and that role decides what they see on the platform and what they can do. There are three: Admin, Manager and Operator.

Admin

The company owner. Everything is open:

• The Dashboard, Projects, Staff and Documentation sections.
• Every page inside a project: playground, chats, inquiries, calls, channels, the build tools and settings.
• Creating staff, switching roles and deleting accounts.
• Subscription, seat and usage information.

The role selector in the form and the Admin option in the role filter are also visible to this role only.

Manager

The person who runs a project. They see:

• The Dashboard, Projects, Staff and Documentation sections.
• Every page inside a project — configuring the agent, data sources, functions, channels, calls and annotations included.

A manager can create new staff, but only with the Operator role: the role selector is not shown to them. Switching roles and the subscription details are closed to managers as well.

Operator

The person who talks to customers. They only see the projects they are assigned to, and inside a project three pages are open:

• Chats — live conversations.
• Inquiries — incoming inquiries and the replies to them.
• Settings — categories and message templates.

Operators have no Dashboard, Staff, playground, agents, data sources, channels, calls or annotations. After signing in they land straight on the project list.

Switching a role

In the staff list, press the ⋮ button on a row and pick the role name in the menu — it always shows the opposite of the current role: Manager for an operator, Operator for a manager.

• The item is only visible to the company owner.
• Rows with the Admin role are not offered a role switch.
• The change takes effect immediately and a confirmation appears at the top. The role badge in the list updates too.

Roles versus assignments

The role decides what someone can do; the assignment decides where they can do it. Both managers and operators only work with the projects they are assigned to — see Assigning to projects.
